With summer just around the corner and the last half term of the school year only a few days away, we thought it would be the perfect time to bring together some great activities and attractions in and around Surrey that are worth a visit:
Adventure Camp at Sandown Sports
The Sandown Sports complex in Esher, near Chessington, is hosting its popular Ultimate Adventure Camp again this year. The complex boasts a very wide range of sports and activities – from more traditional sports like golf and football to skiing on the region’s only ski slopes! Buckland Park Lake
Located between Reigate and neighbouring Dorking is brand new recreation space Buckland Park Lake. The lake and surrounding area is being opened for general admission for the first time from May 29th. If you or your family enjoy a relaxing walk around trails and woodland, or paddle boarding and wild swimming, Buckland Park Lake is surely the ideal half term destination. The Reverie, Buckland Park Lake's new restaurant, is opening for indoor seating as well as al fresco, with a stunning terrace overlooking the water. Everyman Cinema Reigate
The latest easing of restrictions has allowed local favourite Everyman cinema, located in Reigate Town Centre, to reopen its doors. The boutique-style cinema screens many of the latest films and serves a range of drinks, pizzas and sweet treats. Everyman is probably most famous for its comfortable sofas which make for added relaxation while enjoying a movie! Coral Reef Waterworld
Bracknell’s Coral Reef Waterworld is the perfect destination for those who have missed having a swim and riding waterslides! The Waterworld is now fully reopen, with a variety of giant waterslides suitable for all ages and swimming abilities, as well as an erupting volcano and a pirate ship for the little ones. Beautiful beaches near Surrey
With the forecast hinting at much sunnier weather over the bank holiday weekend and beyond, it might just be warm enough to dig out the swimming costumes and bucket & spade and head to one of the lovely beaches located within driving distance of Surrey. Hastings, West Wittering and Bournemouth are just some of the towns which are home to some lovely beaches – all of these beaches have car parking as well as cafes, restaurants and shops for a refreshing drink or a bite to eat. Batts Hill Gin Garden Pop Up
If you’re looking for something that doesn’t involve the children, then Batts Hill Gin’s pop up Gin Garden may make for a relaxing evening. Located at The Barn at Solo on Reigate High Street, the intimate garden serves a variety of spectacular, hand-finished gin. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite, and the ticket price includes admission to the secret garden, two exclusive Batts Hill gin cocktails, and a grazing box full of tasty nibbles. The garden is open on selective weekends between now and September and only seats 25 people per sitting, so book now to avoid missing out.
